Finally! The board is complete! Programming lies ahead…

We fully soldered and completed the circuit board today.  The modules comprise radiation, pressure, speed of sound, humidity, internal and external temperature, radio, SMS, GPS, voltage detection and 2 datalogger modules.

We came across a strange issue too. When creating circuits one of the most important things is to not have continuity across positive and negative terminals, otherwise a short-circuit occurs and your components could be easily fried (broken beyond repair). We came across what appeared to be a short when testing continuity with a multi-tester. After a few minutes panicking and trying to work out where it was, we concluded that this short was no short at all – but a constant reading. This solved our problem because we were sure there was no short circuit after very precise examination, and this explanation made sense.

The programming aspect of the project will start very soon, and is going to be a big job to complete.

Practical 1 – Joe

I’ve just been a tester for this practical. See the pictures below and the practical attached.
The idea is that we ‘daisychain’ support, so I would help Poppy with any problems, as she is doing the practical next, and so on. In this PDF you will find the instructions to the practical – please contact us if anything doesn’t make sense.
